In the past 1.5 years, we organized an application procedure every two months. In total, we received no less than 2.000 applications.
In a first assessment, applicants analyzed several tactical situations, which allowed us to select the best 200 scouts.
With a second assessment – which asked them to evaluate several players based on individual clips – we picked the best 14 scouts.
Quality > experience
We truly believe many scouts don’t get the opportunities they deserve, because they don’t have enough experience (yet). A typical Catch 22 situation.
In our applications, we assign no relevance at all to what might be expected of scouts based on their cv. Instead, we purely rate their skills and knowledge shown in the assessment.
- Not a single applicant was asked to send us their cv or covering letter.
- Completed second assessments were anonymized to avoid any bias in rating them.
Every few weeks, we go through a sample of the reports provided by a scout in our team. With individual feedback, we try to further improve their level of quality.
Besides that, we regularly organize video calls with the scouts where we provide information about several topics.
With this group of 14 excellent scouts, we support clubs in their player recruitment processes.
