Short bio
I'm Bogdan Borod, a 25-year-old football scout and analyst from Romania. I've been working in football since 2022, and I'm passionate about continuously developing my understanding of the game. I approach player evaluation with an open and analytical mindset, always looking to challenge my own ideas and keep improving.

Scouting experience
I began my scouting journey in 2022 as a volunteer scout for a Romanian top-flight club, where I spent two years writting player reports and developing the foundations of my player evaluation skills. Over the past year, I've been working as a Volunteer Youth Video Scout for Ajax, an opportunity I earned through the 360 Scouting programme. During this time, I've written both individual player reports and full match reports, analysing youth players across various age groups and competitions. More recently, I completed the first quarter of the 360 Scouting Academy, where I further developed my scouting methodology and analytical skills. During the programme, I finished second in a scouting competition, an achievement I'm very proud of and an encouraging milestone in my development as a scout.

Current club
Youth Video Scout at Ajax

Qualities

Preferred positions to scout
Goalkeeper, Defensive Midfielder, Central Midfielder, Attacking Midfielder, Left Winger, Right Winger, Striker

Preferred leagues and regions
I'm most familiar with Eastern European leagues, as that's where I've gained the majority of my experience. However, I'm a quick learner and can adapt to any league or region within a short period of time if required.

What makes you stand out?
I believe one of my biggest strengths as a scout is my ability to analyse actions within their context rather than focusing only on the final outcome. I enjoy breaking down every phase of the game in detail, understanding why players make certain decisions, how consistent their behaviours are and whether their qualities are transferable to a higher level of football. I'm also someone who constantly challenges my own opinions, as I believe continuous learning is essential to becoming a better scout.
