Marco van der Heide is a former professional football player and the founder of 360 Scouting. After his active career, Marco has become a video scouting expert, spending thousands of hours analyzing matches and players.
For almost ten years, he has worked for professional clubs, individually or through 360 Scouting. At AZ Alkmaar, he reported to current Liverpool head coach Arne Slot as their opposition analyst. As a video scout, Marco worked for various clubs, ranging from Champions League teams to second-tier clubs.

Course program
Learn to understand the anatomy of football actions, which enables you to understand the whole game better.
- Four phases every football action goes through.
- Four characteristics of every football action.
- Other ‘lenses’ to evaluate football actions.
Perform the first scouting task by describing football actions in six selected tactical situations. Complete the task in your own time within 10 days. Receive personal feedback to improve your level.
Learn to understand and apply everything about players and their position and role within the team.
- Basic team tactics: structure, principles, patterns.
- Roles and requirements per position.
- Differentiating per position in Wyscout.
Perform the second scouting task by analyzing team tactics and player roles within the team based on what you’ve learned. Complete the task in your own time within 10 days. Receive personal feedback to improve your level.

- Writing reports that are clear, concise and vivid.
- Discussing players verbally like in a scout meeting.
